Doda Taekwondo Team clinches 25 medals at 27th J&K UT Taekwondo Championships

Doda, Feb 12: The Taekwondo athletes of District Doda made a remarkable mark at the 27th J&K UT Taekwondo Championships 2024-25, securing a total of 25 medals (14 Gold, 4 Silver, and 7 Bronze) and achieving overall 3rd place in the championship. The prestigious event was held from 9th to 11th February 2025 at Indoor Hall Bhagwati Nagar, Jammu, organized by the J&K Taekwondo Association (Regd.) under the aegis of the Taekwondo Federation of India (TFI) and J&K Sports Council (JKSC). In recognition of their stellar performance, the District Doda team was felicitated by the Hon'ble Minister of Youth Services and Sports, J&K, Shri Satish Sharma.

The team’s success was made possible through the dedicated guidance of Mr. Burhan Ud Din Khan (NIS Taekwondo Coach / National Referee) and Mr. Babar Mujahid (Team Coach). The championship witnessed the participation of over 500 athletes from across J&K UT, competing under the latest Taekwondo rulings with a real-time competition management system (PSS).
President of the Taekwondo Association of District Doda, Mr. Junaid Ali Khan, extended his heartfelt congratulations to the entire team for their outstanding achievement. He also expressed gratitude to President J&K Taekwondo Association, Shri Rajesh Pangotra, and Secretary, J&K Sports Council, Ms. Nuzhat Gul, for organizing such a prestigious event in J&K.
This achievement marks a significant milestone for District Doda’s Taekwondo community, inspiring young athletes to aim for greater heights in the sport.
