| Post- Coalition: Valley scenario worst, says Mufti | | | Early Times Report Rajouri, Apr 11- Accusing ruling National Conference for once again deceiving the people of Jammu and Kashmir through its deceitful tactics, former Chief Minister and patron of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Mufti Mohammad Sayeed today said that situation in Kashmir Valley has again started deteriorating after formation of National Conference-Congress alliance in the State. While analyzing 100 days performance of the coalition, the former Chief Minister said that within period of just three months this regime has lost faith of the people. “I do admit that the new coalition don’t have a ‘magic lamp’ to solve all problems of masses with one stroke but this regime has failed to initiate even a single step to fulfill aspirations of the people”, he said, adding, “instead of minimizing miseries of the people this government has further compounded their woes through its casual approach”. He opined that beginning of coalition reflects that the rulers of this regime were more concerned about enjoying power rather than addressing problems of the common masses. Addressing an impressive public meeting at Rajouri in support of party candidate Trilok Singh Bajwa, Sayeed said that there was a feeling among people that they were once again deceived by the National Conference. “All promises made by this party in assembly elections remained only on papers”, he observed and reminded the people that National Conference leaders had promised to curtail educational qualification for recruitment in police, stipend for unemployed educated youth, waving off of power tariff etc. He, however, said that all these promises remained only on papers. Pointing towards increase in the cases of human rights violations and killings of innocent people at the hands of security forces during the last three months, Sayeed said that situation has been deteriorating after formation of this regime in the State. “During our three year tenure we restored dignity and honour of the people by making the security forces accountable of any violation”, he said but added that new coalition has so far failed to control the situation. “It is the same coalition which is responsible for two decades long bloodshed and destruction in the State”, he observed and recalled that it was the same National Conference-Congress regime that had subverted the democracy in Jammu and Kashmir by blatantly rigging the infamous 1987 assembly elections in the State. Highlighting problems being faced by the inhabitants of Rajouri, Sayeed regretted that from 1947 to 2002, this region was neglected by the successive state governments. “Those who ruled the State from 1947 to 2002 were responsible for your conditions”, Sayeed said, but hastened to add that during a span of just three years the PDP led regime had taken many revolutionary steps for the development and betterment of these areas. PDP candidate for Jammu-Poonch Lok Sabha seat, Trilok Singh Bajwa, MLA Darhal Choudhary Zulfikar, Bazi Mian Aslam, A K Sawhney, Falail Singh, Ashok Kumar, Bharat Bhushan, Shahzad Khan, Anam Choudhary, Jagat Ram, Mohammad Shafi Dar, Ashan Mirza, Hyder Atish and Tazim Dar also spoke on the occasion.
