Dramatic Club, Central University of Jammu presents "Ik Panna Gumnaam"

JAMMU, Feb 14: The Dramatic Club of Central University of Jammu, in collaboration with Viraj Kala Kendra, Jammu, presented the patriotic stage play "Ik Panna Gumnaam" in a heartfelt tribute to the Pulwama Martyrs at Brigadier Rajinder Singh Auditorium today. Viraj Kala Kendra 'Best Stage Play' 'Ek Panna Gumnaam' lesser known revolutionaries which was organized in the memory of Shaheed Ashfaq-Ullah Khan, Ram Parsad Bismil, Thakur Roshan Singh and Rajinder Lahiri at Central University of Jammu Auditorium. The play was in Hindustani language and reminded the great Kakori conspiracy by the great freedom fighters, who sacrificed their lives for Mother India.
The emotionally stirring performance highlighted the sacrifices of the brave hearts who laid down their lives for the nation. The play, filled with deep patriotism and moving storytelling, resonated strongly with the audience, evoking a sense of national pride and reverence.
Hon'ble Vice Chancellor, Prof. Sanjeev Jain, appreciated the outstanding performance by Viraj Kala Kendra and commended their efforts in bringing forth such a meaningful theatrical presentation. He emphasized the importance of remembering and honoring the supreme sacrifices made by our soldiers and encouraged students to imbibe the values of courage, unity, and dedication toward the nation.
The event witnessed an overwhelming response from faculty members, students, and staff, who applauded the remarkable portrayal and impactful narration. The Central University of Jammu, through its cultural initiatives, continues to promote art and patriotism, fostering a spirit of responsibility and respect for the nation among students.
The play was written and directed by Rajneesh Kumar Gupta and he played the role of Ashfaq-Ullah Khan. The play was based on the life, history, ideals and struggle for freedom of freedom fighter Ashfaq-Ullah Khan. Hindu-Muslim unity was shown through the eternal friendship of Ashfaq-Ullah Khan and Ram Parsad Bismil.
