GDC Neeli Nallah Udhampur students receive Rajya Puraskar from LG

JAMMU, Feb 14: The students of Government Degree College (GDC) Neeli Nallah, Udhampur, were honored with the prestigious Rajya Puraskar for J&K Bharat Scouts & Guides by Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha at the Convention Centre, Jammu.
The grand ceremony was graced by esteemed dignitaries, including Sh. Satish Sharma, Minister for Youth Services and Sports; Dr. Mandeep K. Bhandari, Principal Secretary to the Lieutenant Governor; Ramesh Kumar, Divisional Commissioner Jammu; Wg. Cdr MM Joshi, National Commissioner, Bharat Scouts & Guides; and Rajinder Singh Tara, Director General, Youth Services and Sports. Several administrators, guides, and captains were also present at the event.
The Lieutenant Governor presented the Rajya Puraskar certificates to the Scouts & Guides, Rovers, and Rangers, extending his heartfelt congratulations to the recipients. He emphasized that the certificates recognize the students' dedication, selfless service, hard work, and discipline. Acknowledging the invaluable contribution of Bharat Scouts and Guides in community service and nation-building, he stated, "J&K Bharat Scouts and Guides is on a mission to instill the spirit of service to others as a core societal value. Their commendable work fosters national integration and selfless service for the betterment of society. I encourage J&K Bharat Scouts & Guides to build a network of youth leaders across various sectors, connecting them with cultural heritage and traditions while leading the fight against drug abuse."
Prof. Dr. Seema Arora, Principal of GDC Neeli Nallah, attended the ceremony alongside the award recipients-Ramneek Sharma, Sheetal Sharma, and Vaishali Devi of Semester 6. Congratulating the students, she remarked, "Youth is the driving force behind a progressive society and a prosperous nation. Through young minds, we can ignite the flame of transformation." She also lauded the relentless efforts of Prof. Shaista Yasmeen, Convenor Bharat Scouts and Guides, for her dedication and service to the institution.
The ceremony concluded on a high note, celebrating the achievements of the young Scouts and Guides while reaffirming the commitment of J&K Bharat Scouts & Guides towards shaping responsible citizens for the nation.
