| Nirmal demands cancellation of KAS results, removal of PSC Chairman | | | JAMMU SEPT-22- Demanding cancellation of KAS results and re-evaluation of the answer sheets afresh under the supervision of a competent member of high integrity, the State BJP President Prof Nirmal Singh has urged for immediate removal of the Chairman PSC and Controller of Examinations adding that their continuation even for a day would only mean massacre of the deserving candidates. Addressing a press conference here today the BJP Chief alleged that State Public Service Commission has become a den of intrigues so much so some of the PSC members have turned against their own Chairman and the Controller of Examination for flouting the laid down rules and tampering with the records relating to marks of the KAS candidates in order to benefit their close ones. Substantiating his charge, Prof Singh that two members of the PSC Prof B K Tiku and Dr N A Jan refused to sign the results of the recently held Combined Civil Service Examination following violation of established norms and rules adding that their conscious did not allow them to be a party to the malpractices being indulged in by the certain top ranking PSC officials. He said the fact is that both the Members had objected to the very selection process and had even acknowledged that the objections raised by the drop out candidates of KAS (mains) including making necessary corrections/deletions in the question papers of both optional as well as general studies were correct and needed to be rectified. So much Mr.Tiku, he said, had even gone to the extent of accusing Chairman of adopting the criteria arbitrarily for election of questions for the reasons best known to him adding that the PSC had itself admitted that 89 questions set for different subjects were wrong. The continuation of both the Chairman and the Controller of Examinations would jeopardize the interests of the upcoming KAS officers and their removal from the key posts would only help to stem the rot. The BJP Chief has also criticized the government for its double standards in promotion of doctors in the two Medical Colleges of the state and urged for adopting uniform criteria and also demanded absorption of agitating B Sc agricultural graduates. Prof Hari Om, Bali Bhagat and Ashok Khajuria were also present at the press conference.
