E. T.: Tell us briefly about your first album “Swetambara”? Richa: Well, this is just a small beginning and Swetambara, which is the collection of rich wedding melodious songs of the country. This album has eight beautiful songs in Hindi with a touch of Rajasthani music. All the songs have been sung by myself and the music has been arranged by Sare-Ga-Ma fame music director Sanjay Vidyarthi. The lyrics and the music by Kamala Bakshi bring to life our rich traditions. The backing vocal is being given by Nupur Roy and is produced by Kajal Ghosh. Indian classic music and folk music were two different streams of music. Both these forms attract and bring together people from varied backgrounds. The need of songs and music in our everyday lives is of utmost importance and helps a great deal in reducing everyday stress. The proceeds from the albums would be used for a social cause.

People want good music to listen and in my other albums, I will continue to present our old rich culture and tradition Dogri and Kashmiri has a rich culture, to which I belong, am planning to give blend of these two old traditions. Let new generation should get good music. I will also do some bajans also. My options are open, Pt. Jaidev gave me a chance to sing in Bollywood movies. My first preference will be to give good music to my people. The response was tremendous in Delhi during the launch of my first, album “Swetambara” which was released by the chief minister, Sheela Dixit at her residence and hope the same response from the city of temples.
