HIRANAGAR, Feb 15: The Red Ribbon Club of Government GLDM Degree College, Hiranagar, successfully organized a Poster Making Competition on the theme "Fight Against AIDS." The competition played a crucial role in promoting artistic expression and community involvement while spreading awareness about the disease. The programme was initiated in collaboration with NACO, The J&K AIDS Control Society, and Higher Education Institutions (HEIs). NACO operates under the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare and is responsible for formulating policies and implementing programs to combat HIV/AIDS in the country.
Prof. Roopali Jamwal, Convenor of the Red Ribbon Club, delivered the welcome address, emphasizing the vital role of the RRC in colleges. She commended the volunteers for their dedicated efforts in promoting awareness activities under the banner of RRC.
A total of 20 students participated in the competition, creatively highlighting the causes, effects, and precautions necessary to prevent the spread of AIDS. Prof. Jamwal underscored that such initiatives are instrumental in shaping an informed and health-conscious youth, empowering them to contribute towards building a disease-free society.
Dr. Pragya Khanna, Principal of GLDM Degree College, applauded the Red Ribbon Club for its consistent efforts and initiatives in organizing meaningful awareness activities for the students.
The event concluded with a vote of thanks delivered by Dr. Bharat Bhushan, a member of the RRC. He acknowledged the active participation of volunteers and appreciated the enthusiasm and curiosity displayed by the students in making the event a success. |
