CMB, Central University of Jammu organised resume writing workshop

JAMMU, Feb 15: The Centre for Molecular Biology in collaboration with the training and placement cell, Central University of Jammu organised a workshop on the resume and CV writing for M.Sc. Biotechnology students (both First year and Final Year) and Scholars of the Centre. The programme was coordinated by the Prof. Mushtaq Ahmed who is also coordinator for the DBT sponsored M.Sc. Biotechnology programme at the Centre for Molecular Biology at CU Jammu.
Prof. Mushtaq formally welcomed Mr. Viraj Magotra, and Mr. Surykash Dubey, the resource person of the workshop and all the participants including faculty members of the Centre. The workshop was organised by the Centre of Molecular Biology under the guidance and patronage of the Hon'ble Vice chancellor, Prof. Sanjeev Jain who always encourages the organizing of such events for the benefit and the professional development of the student. The workshop was conducted with the aim of preparing students for job-oriented skill development so that they can have a resume and CV that can have competitive advantages. During the workshop resource persons interacted with students through question/ answer sessions and implementation of essential tools for effective implementation of academic achievement, showcase of skill set and experiences and be ready for the entering into the job market after completion of the academic journey.
Viraj, Training and Placement Officer, guided the students about the essential elements such as personal information, educational background, work experience, skills and achievement and the importance of clear and concise aspects needed to write a good resume and CV. Additionally, Surykash Dubey, Assistant TPO interacted with the students and orientated them about purpose components, formatting, tailoring of the CV. Overall, the workshop provided the platform to address and learn about the basic aspect of showcasing strengths through the CV/ Resume writing.
Dr. Narendra K Bairwa, Director CMB appreciated the participation of all the students and the Faculty members of the centre for their interactions with the resource persons and guiding students for the crucial aspect of resume writing in their journey to the placement. The event ended with vote of thanks by the program coordinator Prof. Mushtaq Ahmed, CMB, CU Jammu.
