Over 3.52 lac voters will exercise right of franchise in distt Rajouri

Rajouri, Apr 12: About 3,52,945 registered electorate will exercise their right of franchise in Rajouri district in the first phase of Parliamentary election, which is scheduled to be held on April, 16. There are 183920 male and 169025 female and 3084 service voters.
This information was given in a meeting of concerned officers, Master trainer in EVM and election connected Officials yesterday. The District Election Officer, Rajouri Sr. Jaipaul Singh was in the chair.
It was also revealed in the meeting that as per the latest electoral roll, the highest number of 104726 voters, of which 53908 male and 49894 female voters in Rajouri Assembly segment followed by 86754 including 45088 men and 41666 women voters in Darhal, 85642 including 44283 men and 41359 women in Nowshera and 75823 including 39852 men and 35971 women voters in Kalakote constituency.
In order to facilitate smooth voting of the registered electorate a total of 388 polling stations have been set up in the district, of which 124 polling stations in Rajouri segment while 9586 and 83 have been established in Darhal, Nowshera and Kalakote respectively. Besides additional 66 auxiliary polling stations are also being established. The polling personnel have been imparted elaborate training about proper use and handling of EVMs and security forces to their respective destinations well in advance and back to the headquarters soon after polling is over. A total of 179 Buses would be pressed in to service for the purpose while 17 Busses shall be kept standby.
It was also given out in the meeting that comprehensive transport plan has been chalk out for transportation of polling staff, materials, EVMs and security forces to their respective destinations well in advance and back to the headquarters soon after polling is over.
