Embedded Systems, Robotics Laboratory Inaugurated

JAMMU, Feb 17: The School of Engineering, Central University of Jammu (CUJ), has collaborated with IIT-Bombay to offer an Embedded Systems and Robotics course. As part of this collaboration, IIT-Bombay selected and trained B. Tech students of CU Jammu in the field of embedded systems and robotics. Under the esteemed mentorship of Prof. Kavi Arya from IIT-Bombay, six students - Ajitesh Sharma, Ayush Modi, Osho Raj, Samarth Prashar, Shreya Rai, and Sundram Kumar Ray had successfully completed the course. Notably, Sundram Kumar Ray, a B. Tech (CSE) 4th Semester student, achieved an outstanding grade.
Further strengthening this collaboration, IIT-Bombay inaugurated an Embedded Systems and Robotics Laboratory at CU Jammu under the e-Yantra Lab Setup Initiative (eLSI). This state-of-the-art laboratory aims to enhance students' practical skills in embedded systems, IoT, and AI, aligning with the evolving Industry 5.0 landscape.
Under the leadership of Prof. Sanjeev Jain, Hon'ble Vice-Chancellor, Central University Jammu, the inauguration ceremony witnessed the presence of Prof. Yashwant Singh (Registrar) along with Prof. Rakesh Jha (HoD Electronics and Communication), and Prof. Dinesh Kumar (HoD Computer Science and Engineering). Several faculty members of the School of Engineering actively participated, including Dr. Neerendra Kumar, Dr. Palak Mahajan, Dr. Harnain Kour, Dr. Priyank Sharma, Prof. Palvinder Singh Mann, Dr. Pradeep Kumar Singh, Dr. Sachin Gupta, Dr. Sunil Datt Sharma, Dr. Pravesh Pal, Dr. Sanjeev Yadav, Dr. Arvind Selwal, Dr. Deepti Malhotra, Dr. Misbah Shafi, Dr. Jasvinder Pal Singh, Dr. Rajive Kumar, Dr. Suresh Limkar, and others.
During his address, Prof. Yashwant Singh highlighted the significance of Embedded Systems, IoT, and AI courses in shaping future-ready engineers, emphasizing their crucial role in Industry 5.0. On behalf of the Hon'ble Vice-Chancellor, CUJ, the Registrar, CUJ, extended heartfelt gratitude to Prof. Shubha Pandit and her team from IIT-Bombay for their invaluable cooperation in setting up the e-Yantra facilities at Central University of Jammu.
