Abrogation of Art 370 wiped tears of many marginalized communities: Kavinder
2/17/2025 10:20:36 PM
Early Times Report
JAMMU, Feb 17: Senior BJP leader and former Deputy Chief Minister Kavinder Gupta asserted that the abrogation of Article 370 has been a transformative decision, bringing justice to several marginalized communities that had been deprived of their due rights for decades.
He stated this while discussing the present scenario of Jammu and Kashmir post the abrogation of Article 370. Prominent BJP leaders present in the meeting included Munish Sharma, Parmod Kapahi, Rajni Sethi, Rajinder Singh Chib, Veenu Khanna, Dr. Pardeep Mahotra, and Ramesh Katoch.
Speaking at the meeting here at Party Headquarters, the BJP stalwart criticized the role of Kashmir-based politicians, accusing them of exploiting Article 370 to maintain their dominance while keeping many sections of society deprived of fundamental rights. "For decades, these politicians misled the people in the name of special status, while refugees, Valmiki Samaj, West Pakistani migrants, and several other communities were denied basic rights. The Modi government has not only ended this injustice but has also integrated J&K fully with the rest of India, ensuring equal opportunities for all," he said.
Kavinder highlighted that post-August 5, 2019, Jammu and Kashmir has witnessed a new era of development, transparency, and good governance. "Today, J&K is on the path of progress, witnessing massive infrastructure development, investments, and employment opportunities. The dream of 'One Nation, One Constitution' has been realized, ensuring every citizen in J&K enjoys the same rights as any other Indian," he added.
Lauding Prime Minister Narendra Modi's visionary leadership, Kavinder said that the Central Government has provided due rights to every section of society, ensuring an end to decades of discrimination and favoritism that had kept many communities marginalized. He emphasized that the abrogation of Article 370 was a historic step that not only ensured justice for the deprived sections but also integrated Jammu and Kashmir into the mainstream of national development. He further stated that this bold decision has significantly improved the security scenario, curbed separatist activities, and created a conducive environment for peace, stability, and rapid economic growth in the region.
The former deputy Chief Minister appealed to the people of Jammu and Kashmir to embrace the new era of development and unity, leaving behind the divisive politics of the past. He urged them to take full advantage of the opportunities created by the Modi government's historic decisions and work collectively towards building a prosperous and peaceful J&K.
