| NC led coalition a rudderless arrangement-PDP | | | Early Times report Srinagar, Apr 12- Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) today said the National Conference-Congress Coalition Government stands exposed for its non-performance and there are no takers for its hollow slogans now. “The NC and Congress have reneged on almost all the promises made with the people during electioneering and the Coalition Government run by them seems to be a rudderless arrangement lacking direction and commitment,” PDP Vice President Molvi Iftikhat Hussain Ansari while addressing a party workers convention at Beerwa. “This Government has become a non-performing liability,” he said. Reminding Chief Minister Omar Abdullah of the commitments made by him during electioneering, Ansari said the people want to know where is the much-parroted Truth and Reconciliation Commission on human rights violations, what happened to the promise of releasing all the political detenues “within one week of the formation of the Government”, where have the one lakh jobs that were to be given in the first month of the new government gone, what happened to the promise of one job to each family, where is the stipend for the educated unemployed youth, what happened to the commitment of bringing down educational qualification for recruitment of police constables to middle pass and last but not least there is also no word from the Government about removing the electricity meters, slashing the power tariff and subsidizing the LPG and rations promised by NC during electioneering. Addressing the meeting senior PDP leader Tariq Hameed Kara pointed out that during the first three months of its arrival the State government had become noticeable only by its absence both from political and developmental fronts. He said that no new initiatives have been witnessed in any field and the government leaders survive in public either by their vilification of opposition or photo opportunities. Former Chairman of Legislative Council Ghulam Nabi Lone Hanjoora while addressing the meeting said the recent tragic incidents at Bomai, Sopore and Nowhatta and Khaigam Pakherpora have vitiated the atmosphere and there is an urgent need to address the people’s just concerns with concrete action
