International conference on Multidisciplinary Collaboration concludes

JAMMU, Feb 18: The two-day International Conference on "Bridging Disciplines: Unlocking Innovations through Multidisciplinary Collaboration and Challenges" successfully concluded at Government College for Women (GCW) Bhagwati Nagar, Jammu. Held in hybrid mode, the conference provided a significant platform for academic and professional discussions on the importance of interdisciplinary research.
Aligned with the objectives of the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020, the conference emphasized breaking traditional academic silos and promoting flexible, interdisciplinary curricula to foster critical thinking and innovation.
65 participants from across the globe, including scholars from LPU Jalandhar, JNU Delhi, and the University of the Philippines, presented research papers.
Five technical sessions covered diverse topics spanning science, technology, humanities, and social sciences.
Sessions chaired by eminent scholars, including Prof. Arushi Malhotra (Manipal Academy, Dubai), Jocelyn Rivera (University of the Philippines), Dr. Meeru Abrol (Principal, GCW Bhagwati Nagar), Prof. (Dr.) Ashu Vashisth (Principal, GDC Sunderbani), and Ernell B. Gutierrez (Manila Graduate School Department).
Discussions focused on overcoming barriers in multidisciplinary collaboration, fostering innovative learning, and exploring new research avenues.
Dr. Meeru Abrol, Principal, GCW Bhagwati Nagar, emphasized the importance of interdisciplinary collaboration in education and research. Prof. Nisha Bhagat, convenor of the conference, presented the concluding remarks, while Dr. Rahul Verma, Organizing Secretary, provided a summary of key takeaways.
Technical support was provided by Mr. Neeraj Kumar, Dr. Muzaffar Hussain, Mr. Goyal Giri, and Miss Rasmeet Kaur, ensuring smooth conference proceedings. The abstract booklet was designed by Dr. Deepali Bhagat, Dr. Ashwinder Kaur, and Mr. Neeraj Kumar.
The event concluded with a Vote of Thanks delivered by Prof. Pavanjeet Bali, Department of English, who expressed gratitude to all participants, speakers, and the organizing committee for making the conference a resounding success.
With insightful discussions and enthusiastic participation, the conference reinforced the significance of bridging disciplines to unlock new frontiers of knowledge. The organizers aim to continue hosting similar knowledge-driven events in the future.
