UDHAMPUR, Feb 18: A meeting was conducted today at the District Police Lines Udhampur chaired by SSP Udhampur Amod Ashok Nagpure -IPS, to strengthen the district's efforts in combating bovine smuggling and to intensify the surveillance of key individuals involved in such illegal activities, including the notorious kingspins behind these operations.
Officers were directed to enhance their watch over known routes used for bovine smuggling and to actively gather intelligence related to the movements and operations of smugglers.
Special emphasis was placed on identifying and apprehending the key masterminds orchestrating these activities. SSP Udhampur reiterated the importance of taking swift and decisive action against individuals involved in the illegal trade of bovines, stressing that the law would take its course with utmost severity.
A comprehensive strategy was outlined to address the issue, including increasing surveillance, patrolling, and setting up checkpoints at vulnerable spots. Additionally, officers were encouraged to collaborate with local communities and leverage intelligence to curb this illegal activity effectively.
