Early Times Report

Doda, Feb 18, 2025:- As the Congress statehood movement gained momentum, the JKPCC Chief Shri Tariq Hameed Karra has today hit out at the centre blaming it of flouting even Supreme Court directions for early restoration of statehood to J&K and if the demand is not conceded early, the Congress shall not hesitate to take to streets.
Addressing an impressive workers rally at Doda Dak Bunglow today,Shri Karra said that centre had committed before supreme Court to grant statehood “ Very soon “ apart from on the floor of parliament over five years ago but neither “ Very soon” Is being understood nor the appropriate time, being quoted time and again by centre & bjp leaders is understood by the people, since statehood not restored so far.
This is cruel joke with the people as well as democracy & consttution by BJP led centre.More than four months after elected government, the requred powers and promised statehood not being restored.
Working President s Tara Chand,Raman Bhalla,Lal Singh, Ex MP Ravinder Sharma ,Chief Spokesperson, Ex MLC Naresh Gupta, DCC President Sheikh Mujeeb, Ex MLA Ashok Dogra Ex MLC Sham Lal Bhagat contesting candidates Sheikh Riyaz, Prof Pardeep Bhagat, Nadeem Niaz, Sanjeev Panda, Vijay Sharma Seva Dl,Javed Lone,Rashid Malik, Anju Jral, Ranjit Manhas , Jatin Vashisht, Ricky Dalotra, several DDCs,BDCs,Block Presidents, Sarpanches were among the speakers.
As the enthusiastic People raised strong slogans # Hamari Riyasat Hamara Haq, & Karra Saheb Aage Bado, hum Tumhare sath hain” ,extending full support to the statehood movement, the Jkpcc Chief Karra responded by stating that Congress shall not hesitate to launch a strong agitation, taking to streets,if the demand is not met shortly. Day in & day out csntre claims normalcy but does not want to qualify what is appropriate time & what is time frame for restoration of statehood as bjp want to rule by proxy through LG,even after loosing mandate to rule.
Karra said that Congress achieved bigger goal of keeping bjp out by entering into coalition with NC,in which several senior leaders had to sacrifice their seats likwise coalition partner too.Quoting example of Delhi elections, where some party had unilaterally announced to go solo & not the Congress.
Those who think can defeat bjp alone without Congress are committing a mistake in the present circumstances when bjp has the managed support of sevearal institutions & amassed huge weath for elections. He also cited the recent contriversy over the law for appointment of CEC & election commissioners while holding Constitution in his hand lije Rahul Gandhi.
Karra also raised the issue of restrictions being imposed upon Congress movement,as Centre & LG adm got unnervef by the massive support to our mission buy Congress is undettered being peace loving and belives in democracy.
He assured the workers to revamp the organization at all levels to give respresentation ti grass root & dedicated workers.
Meanwhile Chief Spokesperson Mr Ravinder Sharma has questioned the necessary restrictions on the request for outdoor Congress convention in Kishtwar tomorrow.
