Jammu police recover stolen items worth Rs 37 lakh, multiple accused apprehended

JAMMU, Feb 21: In a major success to team of Sub Division City West Jammu, Police succeeded to recover stolen items worth Rs 37 lac in different incidences of thefts.
In a recent incident, a maid hired by a jeweler through a private online recruitment agency took advantage of his employer's absence at home and stole a number of valuables. Among the stolen items were expensive jewelry, mobile phones, a laptop, and other personal belongings.
The jeweler, noticing the theft, promptly reported to Janipur police station . A case FIR no. 22/2025 registered at police station janipur.
Through diligent tracking and investigation, the house help was swiftly apprehended. All the stolen items were successfully recovered from his possession.
The jeweler has expressed relief at the recovery of his belongings and thanked SHO Janipur Insp Vikram Sharma and his team for their swift action.
Few days back Police station Bakshi Nagar in case FIR no. 17/2025 recovered 175 grams of Gold, two lakh rupees cash and one tokka from accused. The recovered items worth Rs 20 lakh were seized and restored to owner through Hon'ble court.
On 20.02.2025 one Shahzad Ahmad reported in Police station Janipur that someone stole his Bullet bike.Janipur police acting swiftly apprehended the accused Dheeraj Singh, a notorious thief who had 25 FIRs against him registered at different police stations earlier and is nuisance to whole society.
In another success to Bakshi Nagar police in case FIR 3/2025 and 10/2025 SHO Bakshi Nagar Insp Azad Hussain Manhas along with his team apprehended accused persons viz Sadam Hussain and Zia Farooq and Sahil Imtiaz and recovered stolen mobile phones, gold items, two scooties and one electric auto rickshaw.
Speaking over the major success to trace theft cases by team sub division west, SP north Jammu requested public through media to share information whenever they see any suspicious persons or things to police so that preventive action can be taken on time to avert any cognizable incidence.
Sub division west Jammu has also requested Vyapar Mandal and variou Mohalla committee through a letter to appoint Chowkidar and install CCTVs to strengthen police security grid for zero theft model.
Public through our programme CHAI with COP has also been made aware to not to keep any valuable in their house and use the facility of bank lockers.
They should avoid to keep huge cash in their saving accounts and shall use the sweep facility over saving accounts to convert extra amount in their saving accounts to FDs to save them from cyber frauds.
Police is duty bound and is always available 24x7 for the help of general public and above said recovery prove the commitment made by police to public.
