Early Times Report
JAMMU, Feb 24: Kashmiri Pandits who bore the maximum brunt of forceful migration from Kashmir Valley in 1990 left behind their immovable Property in crores most of which was either illegally grabbed by land grabbers or their land records were deliberately tampered/changed by way of illegal methods like mutations section 4 and 8 etc to facilitate and regularise illegal occupation which involves many politicians, revenue officials and bureaucrats who remained at the helm of affairs at that time. Hence in this way a huge loss worth crores have been caused to this displaced community and there is a great variations in many land records now and before 1990 that needs a high probe to un earthen this scamp. In Joint Statement issued today by the leaders of KP advisory committee comprising of prominent socio political activists/leaders Vinod Pandita, Bharat Kachroo, Sanjay Dhar (President KP wing DAP), Vijay Raina, Kuldeep Kashmiri, Sunil Bhat (President Migrant cell PDP), Vishal Jotshi , Sunil Pandita and others have expressed grave concern and anguish over the way the land records at many places in Migrant lands in Kashmir have been mindfully and deliberately tampered/changed fastly for last many years after 1990 i.e. post exodus period of Kashmiri Pandits to facilitate and benefit land grabbers and anti social elements under a well thought out plan and conspiracy. Hence caused irreparable mental and financial losses to the poor migrants in their absence. These leaders in one voice has strongly appealed Lt.Governor J&K to declare officially all such illegal changes in the revenue records after 1990 or changes made by way of any settlement without any knowledge of the real land owners and at their back as null and void. They also appealed His Excellency to direct all the Dy. Commissionsers, the sole custodian to rectify the illegal entries forthwith and maintain the land record in all such cases that of 1990 which is envisaged in immovable migrant act 1997 also . They further advocated for initiating a high level probe in these grave irregularities to un earthen this big scamp so that the culprits are brought to justice as per the law of the land who took the advantage of our forceful migration. They also appealed to Lt. Governor and Chief Minister J&K to implement the migrant property act 1997 in letter and spirit as well reactivate defunct migrant grievance portal on priority to provide solace to the aggrieved migrants running from pillar to post in revenue offices in kashmir for want of disposal of their land problems but all in vain.
