SAMBA, Feb 27: SPPND GDC Samba celebrated National Science Day 2025 with a two-day event organized by the CV Raman Club to commemorate the discovery of the Raman Effect by Dr. C. V. Raman and to foster scientific temperament among students. The event was aligned with this year's theme, "Empowering Indian Youth for Global Leadership in Science & Innovation for ViksitBharat," emphasizing the role of young minds in shaping India's scientific future.
A major highlight of the event was the display of 21 creative posters, showcasing innovative scientific concepts and their real-world applications. In her address, Principal Prof. (Dr.) Twinkle Suri underscored the importance of scientific research and innovation in national development. She encouraged students to cultivate a spirit of inquiry, scientific thinking, and innovation, reinforcing their potential to contribute to India's vision of becoming a developed nation-ViksitBharat. In the poster competition, Manvi Sambyal and Palak Gupta (Semester 2) secured the first prize. Sandeep Kour and Shamsher Singh (Semester 6) won second place and Suvida Sambyal (Semester 2) clinched the third position. The event served as a platform to inspire young minds to pursue scientific endeavors with passion and curiosity, equipping them to become global leaders in science and innovation. The programme was coordinated by Associate Prof. Anju Bala, Convener C.V. Raman Science Club. Assistant Professors, Kamlesh Bala and Rubeena Kouser adjudged the competition. By embracing this year's National Science Day theme, GDC Samba reaffirms its commitment to nurturing young scientists who will contribute to a Viksit Bharat in science and technology.
