Management conclave organized at SMVDU

JAMMU, Feb 27: The School of Business organised Sambandh - a Management Conclave entitled- 'Digital Transformation'. During the inaugural ceremony, Prof. Pragati Kumar, Vice Chancellor, SMVDU and Chief Guest of the event emphasized the necessity of continuous curriculum updates and industry collaborations to equip students with analytical and tech-driven skills. Prof. Pragati Kumar highlighted the importance of continuous updates in management programs, ensuring they incorporate advancements in Tech 4.0 and provide students with strong analytical backgrounds. He emphasised that such kind of conclaves serve as a platform through which industry experts share their insights on challenges, solutions, and the evolving corporate landscape with the budding managers. Prof. Ashutosh Vashistha, Dean, Faculty of Management highlighted that in order to better serve and improve ability to compete, organisations in all the fields including education, commerce, banking and social aspects are doing digital transformation. He emphasised that with digital transformation organisations can reach unparalleled scalability with its multiplier effects. Prof. Jyoti Sharma, Head, School of Business laid down emphasis on the role of digital transformation in shaping future business strategies with a particular focus on the applications of automation, AI, and industry collaborations. Highlighting the structure of the program, Prof. Sharma mentioned that the event aimed to equip students with the knowledge and skills required to navigate and excel in an increasingly technology-driven corporate world. The distinguished dignitaries from corporate and academia including Prof. Dhaval Maheta, Veer Narmad South Gujarat University, Mr. Arun Gupta, General Manager, Siemens; Mr. Sidarath Arora, Media Professional, Mr. Manjul Anand Sr. Quality Engineer from Publicis Sapient, Mr. Sanjesh Sharma, Category Manager from IBM India Private Ltd, , Mr. Navneet Singh Regional Head-Branch Banking, Vice-President, IndusInd Bank and Mr. Madhu Sudan, Sales Enablement Leader from Kyndryl India shared their perspectives and experiences with the participants regarding the various aspects associated with digital transformation. Prof. Dhaval Maheta started the discussion highlighting the role of Large Language Model Agents and the necessity of reducing hallucinations. Mr. Sidarath Arora delved into AI's influence on various industries, from movie production (VFX) to market analytics and data-driven decision-making. Mr. Manju tracing the history of AIs narrated the rise of generative AI including ChatGPT, etc. Mr. Navneet Singh discussed AI's role in digital transformation, emphasizing its use in blockchain technology for cyber security and trust. Mr. Sanjesh Sharma explored the hype vs. reality of AI, explaining Generative AI and its applications, including predictive analytics and AI-powered content generation. With the help of live corporate examples, Mr. Madhu Sudan emphasised the significance of strategic AI implementation, covering automation in businesses to enhance productivity and personalization in customer experiences. Later in the event, during the panel discussion on 'Web 4.0', citing examples the panellists discussed AI's impact on culture, economy, and business and its linkage to Viksit Bharat. The discussion concluded with a call for ethical AI adoption to ensure widespread benefits. Dr. Syeda Shazia Bukhari, Organising Secretary and extended gratitude towards resource persons and administration of SMVDU for making the event successful. During the Valedictory session, Dr. Deepak Jain, Co-Organising Secretary of program facilitated the Mr. Ajay Sharma, Registrar, SMVD University and Mr. Neeraj Gupta, Finance Officer, SMVDU and acknowledged their support for such kinds of events. All the students of Faculty of Management, SMVDU Including MBA, BBA, BA and MA Economics actively participated in the conclave.
