Reasi police tightens noose on bovine smugglers

Reasi, Feb 27: Continuing special drive against the bovine smuggler Reasi police foiled bovine smuggling at Kanjali, Reasi. An information through reliable source received at PP Dera Baba that some bovine smugglers have carried bovine animals in a pick up truck bearing Registration No. JK02CL-7740 for selling purpose. Soon after the receipt of the information, the police party laid a Naka at Kanjali area and bovine smuggler namely Mumtaz Ahmed Chouhan S/O Mohd Khalil Chouhan R/O Verinag, Anantnag A/P Dhansal, District Jammu who was found carrying 05 bovine animals without any valid permission of the concerned authority, was apprehended by the Police party. On this, Case FIR No. 35/2025 U/S 223 BNS, 11(1) (A) PCA Act stands registered at P/S Reasi and investigation initiated to unearth the forward and backward linkages.
The whole operation is led by I/C PP Dera Baba PSI Jarnail Singh alongwith SHO P/S Reasi Insp. Ranjeet Singh Rao under the supervision of Dy.SP HQ Reasi Sh. Vishal Singh Jamwal and Addl. SP Reasi Sh. Iftkhar Ahmed-JKPS.
Paramvir Singh-JKPS, Senior Superintendent of Police Reasi while sharing the details conveyed that Reasi Police is working on multipronged strategy to deal with bovine smuggler and will leave no stone unturned to curb this menace from the society.
