Panthers demand ST status for Paddar, Marwah areas

Jammu, Apr 13- Prof. Bhim Singh, Chairman of JKNPP accompanied by Harsh Dev Singh, while addressing large gatherings at Gulabgarh, the Tehsil Headquarters of Paddar region, has accused successive state government of Congress and NC for neglecting the region and ignoring the development of the area in all respects.
Bhim demanded that the entire areas of Paddar and Marwah-Dachen should be declared as Scheduled Tribe keeping in view their social, economic and political backwardness deteriorating educational and economic conditions. He said that Paddar should be connected by motorable road with Himachal Pradesh via Pangi and with Kargil via Jhanskar. He also accused the State government for robbing the state wealth of diamond which are situated in Michel region and have been literally robbed by the politicians and the bureaucrats. He demanded that sphere mines in Paddar should be nationalized and the income should be utilized for the development of this region. He also demanded that entire Marwa-Dachen-Wadwan should be connected by road with Kishtwar and Anantnag so that the people living in this area would also see the light of Indian democracy.
Harsh Dev Singh, called upon the people to wake up to the call of the Panthers Party which alone represents the voice of farmers, workers, employees, ex-servicemen and above all the youth who have been waiting for their jobs for years. He said that during his tenure as education minister in J&K he provided jobs to nearly 35000 of youth, opened more than 10000 schools, removed disparity among the teaching class and gave a new message of people’s involvement in the governance. Ghulam Ali Engineer, Anil Parihar, Ram Krishan Sharma, Rehmatullah Choudhary and Rajender Wazir also addressed these meetings.
