Seminar on Youth Empowerment in Science held

RAMNAGAR, Feb 28: The Department of Physics, in collaboration with the Science Club and IQAC of Government Degree College (GDC) Ramnagar, organized a one-day seminar on "Empowering Indian Youth for Global Leadership in Science and Innovation for Viksit Bharat." The event was held under the patronage of Prof. (Dr.) Bhavnaish Chand Anthal, Principal, GDC Ramnagar.
The seminar commenced with a welcome address by Dr. Kewal Kumar, Convenor, Science Club, who emphasized the pivotal role of science and technology in India's progress. The keynote lecture was delivered by Dr. Rakesh Kumar Pandit, HOD Physics and IQAC Convenor, who spoke on the contributions of Sir C.V. Raman, highlighting the discovery of the Raman Effect on February 28, 1928, and its impact on modern physics.
A key highlight of the seminar was the participation of seven science students from various departments, who shared their insights on empowering youth for global leadership in science and innovation. They presented ideas on how young minds can contribute to realizing the vision of Viksit Bharat 2047.
The event also featured the screening of two documentaries-one on the life and contributions of Sir C.V. Raman and another on the historical significance of Nalanda University.
The program concluded with a vote of thanks by Prof. Sumita Rao, HOD Zoology, who expressed gratitude to the participants, organizers, and dignitaries. Faculty members including Dr. Pankaj Sharma, Prof. Manmohan Singh, Prof. Ritika Mahajan, Dr. Sham Singh, and Dr. Puyesh Kant Sharma were present, along with students who actively engaged in discussions. The seminar served as a platform to inspire young minds towards scientific innovation and leadership, contributing to India's journey towards becoming a global powerhouse in science and technology.
