| Asgar seeks support for PDP candidate | | | Early Times Report
Kishtwar, Apr 13- Newly elected Legislative Council member and senior leader of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Sayeed Asgar Ali has asked the people to cast votes in favour for PDP candidate for accelerated developmental activities in this backward and neglected district.
Addressing series of public meetings at Pochal, Sangrambhatta, Malan, Udri, Sarkute and Bhalipaith areas of Kishtwar district to garner support for party candidate Thakur Balbir Singh, he said that elected representatives of this belt were responsible for the woes of the people. He especially mentioned that neither the local MLA nor the Lok Sabha member ever paid any attention towards problems being faced by the people. He called upon the people to cast votes in favour of Balbir Singh for the development of their areas. He said that that programs and policies of the PDP were aimed at restoring lasting peace in this region. He said that during its three years tenure PDP has already transformed its pro-peace agenda into a reality. PDP MLC said that Mufti Mohammad Sayeed has set an example of good governance and it was only during his tenure that equal treatment was given to all regions and sub-regions. He especially mentioned that special developmental programs were formulated for the development of Kishtwar district during the PDP rule. During these public meetings, people told the PDP leaders that the sitting Lok Sabha member has never visited their areas. They alleged that Lal Singh was responsible for forcible eviction Gujjars from Kathua district. Shaqir Saddique, Farooq Saddique, Master Ghulam Mohammad Ganai, Tafiq Ahmed Waza, Noor Hussain Malik, Ghulam Mohammad Munshi, Hans Raj Bhagat and Suresh K Bhaga also spoke on the occasion. In these public meetings dozens of activists of National Conference, Congress and BJP joined the PDP. Meanwhile in meeting held today at Singhpura under the leadership of Abdul Rehman Wani of Inderwal some youth joined the PDP. Those who joined PDP included Nazir Ahmed, Ramesh Kumar, Nath Kumar, Balak Ram, Mohammed Ashraf and Ghulam Hassan Lone.
