Two-day workshop on accreditation & ranking in HEIs inaugurated

KATRA, Mar 1: A two-day workshop on Accreditation Procedure & Ranking in Higher Educational Institutions (HEIs) commenced at Shri Mata Vaishno Devi University (SMVDU), Katra. Organized by the Directorate of Quality Assurance (DQA), SMVDU, and sponsored by Pradhan Mantri Uchchatar Shiksha Abhiyan (PM-USHA), the workshop aims to enhance awareness about accreditation procedures and ranking systems.
Prof. (Dr.) Umesh Rai, Vice Chancellor of the University of Jammu, was the chief guest at the inaugural session. Prof. Supran Sharma, Director, DQA, and workshop coordinator, highlighted the evolving accreditation framework and the need for stakeholder sensitization.
Prof. (Dr.) Pragati Kumar, Vice Chancellor, SMVDU, felicitated Prof. Sanjeev Kumar Sharma, Director, IQAC, Panjab University, who is among the eminent resource persons at the workshop. Addressing the gathering, Prof. Pragati Kumar stressed the importance of streamlining data collection and processing to expedite accreditation. Prof. Umesh Rai emphasized the role of accurate data in securing good accreditation scores and advised institutions to conduct self-assessments to identify strengths and challenges. He also underscored the need for employees to develop a sense of belonging for institutional growth. Dr. Surender Singh, Deputy Director, DQA, delivered the vote of thanks. Other distinguished resource persons at the workshop include Prof. Abdul Q. Ansari from Jamia Millia Islamia University and Prof. Pankaj K. Srivastava from the University of Jammu.
The workshop is expected to equip participants with essential skills for accreditation and ranking procedures, contributing to institutional excellence.
