Indian Red Cross Society, J&K conducts humanitarian activities

JAMMU, Mar 1: The Indian Red Cross Society (IRCS), J&K-UT, under the leadership of Hon'ble Lt. Governor Sh. Manoj Sinha (President, IRCS J&K-UT) and the supervision of Sh. Rohit Khajuria, General Secretary, IRCS J&K, organized a series of humanitarian activities across the region.
IRCS J&K conducted a First-Aid Awareness and Youth Red Cross Program at Government Degree College, Kunjwani, Jammu, where students and faculty received hands-on training from Dr. Manpreet Kaur (Medical Officer) and Ms. Vironica Marwah (Field Officer, IRCS J&K). The session covered basic first-aid techniques, CPR, emergency response, and transportation methods. Many students registered as Annual Associates of the Red Cross, showing their commitment to humanitarian efforts.
An eight-day First-Aid Training Programme for commercial vehicle drivers, volunteers, and employees concluded at Red Cross Bhawan, Kachi Chawni, Jammu. The training, led by Dr. Kavita Nijhon Verma and Dr. Manpreet Kaur, covered disaster management techniques, fracture management, bleeding control, CPR, and drug de-addiction awareness. A free eye check-up was also conducted for participants, and provisional certificates were issued upon completion.
The IRCS J&K continues to empower communities through life-saving skills, reinforcing its commitment to humanitarian service and public welfare.
