| Jaundice eyes see yellow: Gupta to PDP | | | Early Times Report Jammu Apr 13- Pooh-poohing the tall claims made by Mufti Mohammad Sayeed and Mehbooba Mufti about their rule in the state, the Provincial President J&K National Conference Rattan Lal Gupta Monday said that PDP’s biggest achievement was to make Jammu and Kashmir number one corrupt state in the country. “Had this party been allowed to be at the helm it would have achieved the target of making Jammu and Kashmir number one corrupt state in the world”, Gupta added. The Provincial President speaking to party workers here said that if the governance unleashed by PDP during its regime means nurturing corruption and feeding the people on emotional slogans rather than providing them basic amenities, then the PDP has achieved its objective. He said instead of feeling ashamed for their misrule, PDP leadership is raising fingers towards others in order to divert the attention of the people of its flop show. Gupta said that PDP’s false propaganda against National Conference and coalition government holds no water and the party is exposed before the public. He said the opportunist behavior of the PDP became public when the party withdrew its support to Azad led coalition government at the fag end of the government to gain cheap publicity and befool the people of Kashmir for vote bank politics. “Another face of the PDP was unveiled when the party saw NC-Congress forming coalition government tried its best to put a wedge and went to Center Congress leadership with an affidavit pledging on oath that it would never henceforth indulge in making any trouble even if Azad was again nominated Chief Minister of the state”. NC Provincial President said adding that this is the highest level of cheap politics for power lust. Gupta said that Congress out-rightly rejected the PDP for its past bitter experience with this party. Gupta reminded the PDP of its performance as a coalition partner with Congress making Azad led government struggle and ultimately bringing it down. He advised the PDP leadership to shun the practice of making remarks and prophecies about NC-Congress coalition which Gupta said were based on principles. “We share common goal for cultivating peace, progress and development in the state, besides strengthening secular traditions”, he added.
