| LSC organizes legal awareness camp, Lok Adalat | | |
KALAKOTE SEPT-22- A legal awareness camp and Lok Adalat was organized at Court complex here today under the chairmanship of Mehmood Chowhary Chairman Legal Services Committee (LSC) as part of the Diamond Jubilee celebrations of Jammu and Kashmir High Court.
Speaking on the occasion, the Chairman highlighted the aims and objectives of the Legal Service Authority Act and called upon the people to take advantage of the free legal services being provided by the Authority. He also explained the concept of Lok Adalat in which the cases are settled through reconciliation and mutual understanding.
On this occasion, out of 56 cases taken up, the Lok Adalat settled 44 cases through reconciliation and mutual understanding. The cases settled included six criminal cases, seven criminal misc cases, 27 cases of Motor Vehicles Act, three private complaints and one civil case and a fine of Rs.19650 was realized on the spot.
Judicial Magistrate and some other advocates besides Tehsildar and SHO were also present.
