Early Times Report

Sunderbani, Mar 2: Government Degree College (GDC) Sunderbani, in collaboration with the Department of Social Welfare Sunderbani, CDPO Sunderbani, and Beti Bachao Beti Padhao Mission Shakti Sunderbani, successfully hosted the "Women Motor Bikers Expedition" under the Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyaan (Drug-Free India Campaign). The event aimed to spread awareness about drug addiction and advocate for a strong, drug-free society.
The highlight of the initiative was a bike rally featuring women bikers from across India, traversing routes along the International Border and Line of Control (LoC) from Kathua to Poonch. The rally was organized under the theme "Ride for Strength, Brake the Chain - Say No to Drugs" and was led by Miss Preeti Chowdhary (SUF Convener) and her team. Prominent women bikers from various states, including Indu Ji (Andhra Pradesh), Bhawani Ji (Tamil Nadu), Sindy Ji (Chennai), Ambika Sonia (Punjab), and Nitesh Ji (Delhi), actively participated in the campaign, emphasizing that true strength lies in determination and social change.
Beyond the rally, students of GDC Sunderbani contributed significantly to the cause through inspiring lectures, thought-provoking poems, and a compelling skit on drug abuse. Their performances shed light on the devastating impact of addiction and reinforced the significance of awareness, prevention, and rehabilitation in eradicating this social menace.
The event was graced by esteemed dignitaries, including Dr. Ashu Vashisht (Principal, GDC Sunderbani), Jenab Abdul Reheem (DSWO Rajouri), Sh. Inderjeet Gupta (BDO Sunderbani), Rakesh Verma (ZEO), Mr. Sandeep Verma (TLSA), Mr. Rahul Puri (Panel Lawyer), and staff from the Social Welfare Office.
This impactful initiative reaffirmed the commitment to a drug-free society while celebrating the empowerment of women as key drivers of social transformation.
