Jammu, Mar 2: The J&K Bank Pensioners’ Federation successfully conducted its elections today at Jammu, electing new office bearers for its various units. The election process, marked by unity and consensus, saw all candidates elected unanimously, reinforcing the association’s commitment to the welfare of retired employees.
The proceedings commenced with an inaugural address by General Secretary R.K. Bhan, who highlighted the association’s ongoing efforts to safeguard the rights and well-being of retired employees. This was followed by remarks from President Sardar Mohinder Singh, emphasizing the importance of collective representation and mutual support among the retired fraternity. The elections were conducted under the supervision of Election Commissioner Sh. Jawahar Jyoti, with President Mohinder Singh ensuring a transparent and fair process.
Following the smooth election process, Sardar Iqbal Singh was elected as the new President of the Federation, bringing with him a vision to strengthen support systems for retirees. Mohd Amin Khan and V.D. Dogra were elected as Vice Presidents, reflecting the association’s commitment to balanced regional representation. Zafar Ahmed Makdoomi was chosen as General Secretary, entrusted with handling administrative affairs, while Nazir Ahmed Bhat was appointed as Treasurer to efficiently manage financial matters. Additionally, Ved Prakash Gupta was elected as Associate Treasurer to reinforce financial oversight.
The key positions of Secretaries were assigned to R.K. Bhan and Mushtaq Ahmed Ahenger, who will play crucial roles in implementing the association’s strategic initiatives. The Federation Executive Members inducted into leadership included Shahzad Hussain Teli, Mir Bashir Ahmed, Prem Parkash Gupta, and Chander Hass Sharma, ensuring a dynamic team capable of addressing the evolving needs of retired employees.
In his first address as the newly elected President, Sardar Iqbal Singh expressed gratitude to the members for their trust and pledged to enhance welfare measures for the retired fraternity. He outlined key focus areas such as improved healthcare assistance, financial security, and social support mechanisms while advocating for stronger collaboration with bank management to address any emerging issues effectively.
The event concluded with a vote of thanks by R.K. Bhan, who acknowledged the smooth election process and the enthusiasm of all members. He reaffirmed the association’s commitment to ensuring a dignified and secure post-retirement life for all J&K Bank retirees, stressing the importance of unity and continued engagement in collective welfare.
