GDC Kathua Department of Physics organized Quiz Competition

KATHUA, Mar 3: In a remarkable celebration of National Science Day, the Department of Physics at Govt. Degree College, Kathua, successfully organized a Quiz Competition to foster scientific awareness and encourage students' interest in the field of science. The event was held to commemorate the discovery of the Raman Effect by renowned physicist C.V. Raman, which earned him the Nobel Prize in Physics in 1930. The quiz competition, which attracted participation from students of physics department, was a great platform to showcase their knowledge and enthusiasm for scientific advancements. The event was aimed at engaging the youth in learning about the significance of science in our daily lives and promoting critical thinking and problem-solving skills. Prof. Seema Mir, Principal of the college encouraged the students and praised the efforts of Physics Department in organizing such a successful event. "It is inspiring to see our students taking an active interest in science. The spirit of National Science Day is alive in the enthusiasm displayed by our students today," said Principal. Dr. Dinesh Jasrotia, head of the Department of Physics, emphasized the significance of National Science Day in inspiring future scientists. The quiz was designed and conducted by a team of assistant professors, Prof. Ajay Sharma, Dr. Ahsan Elahi, Dr. Shivali Sharma and Dr. Gopal Sharma with supervision from Prof. Ravinder Kour, IQAC Coordinator of the college. Thematic approaches were provided by Prof. Rakesh Sharma, Dr. Neeraj Gupta, and Dr. Daya Ram of the physics department. The function was graced by senior faculty members of the college, Prof. Jagdish Kumar, Dr. R.K. Manhas, Dr. Ram Singh, Dr. Yash Paul Sharma, Dr. Kehar Singh and Prof. Raj Kumari.
