| BJP exploiting my disowned, insane brother | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, Apr 13: Days after his brother joined the BJP, senior Congress leader and former Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Ghulam Nabi Azad today declared his brother as mentally challenged fallen in exploitative hands of BJP. Not only this, Azad also claimed that Ghulam Ali was disowned by the family 20 years back. Speaking to Early Times over phone from Orissa, Azad regretted that his insane brother has been hijacked by the BJP ulterior political motives and to malign his image at national level. "I am surprised that BJP is taking unfair means to malign my name by exploiting mental disability of Ali," Azad told media on phone from Orissa where he is campaigning for his party. The former Jammu and Kashmir chief minister said,"Ali is mentally disabled which is known to all in Doda and Jammu areas and he was disowned by the family about 20 years back for his abnormal behaviour."I am surprised to find that BJP is taking unfair and under-hand means to drag in my name for gaining political mileage in the Lok Sabha polls," he said. Meanwhile, Azad’s another relative Javed Iqbal Azad, also president of Municipal committee, Bhaderwah in a press statement issued today has said, “It is unfortunate that Ghulam Ali is using the name of Azad, which is the pen name of our father, late Ghulam Rasool Azad an eminent educations and social reformer of the state.” He said credit goes to ex–chief minister Ghulam Nabi Azad who has upheld the voters, ideology and principles of late Azad. He said Ghulam Ali misuse the name and un-necessary try to humiliate Azad Sahib. He describe him insane brother and have fallen prey to BJP and started working base less statements and added Azad family and Congress party has nothing to do with his statement.
