Desh Bhagat University hosts two day International Conference

MANDI GOBINDGARH, Mar 4: The Faculty of Engineering Technology and Computing, Department of Business Management & Commerce, and the Faculty of Agriculture and Life Sciences, in association with the IQAC, Desh Bhagat University, Mandi Gobindgarh, Punjab, organized a two-day International Conference on "Novel Opportunities Ventures, Advances in Management, Engineering, and Science (INNOVAMES-2K25)" through a hybrid mode. The conference aimed to bring together researchers, practitioners, and industry leaders to discuss the latest advances and innovations in various fields.
The inaugural session on the first day was held at the Mahapragya Seminar Hall on the DBU campus. The ceremony was graced by the presence of the Chancellor of Desh Bhagat University, Dr. Zora Singh; Pro-Chancellor, Dr. Tajinder Kaur; Advisor to Chancellor, Dr. Virinder Singh; and Registrar, Mr. Surinder Pal Kapoor. During the inaugural session, the Souvenir of INNOVAMES was released. The convenors of this international event included Prof. (Dr.) Harsh Sadawarti, Vice President and Dean of the Faculty of Engineering Technology and Computing; Prof. (Dr.) Harvinder Kaur Sidhu, Dean of the Faculty of Agriculture and Life Sciences; Prof. (Dr.) Rajni Saluja, Director of Business Management and Commerce; and Dr. Khushboo Bansal, Deputy Director, Faculty of Engineering Technology and Computing. Dr. Sougata Chattopadhyay and Dr. Avinash Bhatia served as co-convenors and organizing secretaries for the event.
The chief guest for this prestigious event was Prof. (Dr.) Jai Rup Singh, Former Vice Chancellor of the Central University of Punjab, who shared insights on the importance of scientific temperament. The keynote talks were delivered by Dr. Surender Singh Saini, Senior Principal Scientist at CSIO, Chandigarh, and Dr. Uday Kumar Ghosh, Professor at Lincoln University, USA. On the first day, three technical sessions were conducted, where national and international delegates presented their research findings. Under the theme of Agriculture and Life Sciences, Prof. (Dr.) H.K. Sidhu was the Chairperson, and Dr. Avinash Bhatia served as the Co-Chairperson. In the Business Management and Commerce session, Prof. (Dr.) Rajni Saluja was the Chairperson, with Prof. (Dr.) Navdeep Kaur as the Co-Chairperson. For the Engineering Technology and Computing (Civil & Computer Science) session, Prof. (Dr.) Badhai Lonia and Prof. (Dr.) Sachit Vardan served as Chairpersons, and Dr. Pooja Sharma and Dr. Navneet Kaur were the Co-Chairpersons.
The valedictory program was held on the second day at the Mahapragya Seminar Hall. The Worthy Vice Chancellor, Prof. (Dr.) Abhijit H Joshi, appreciated the efforts of the organizing committee and emphasized that by blending the power of knowledge, innovation, and leadership, a brighter and more sustainable future can be created. On the second day, three technical sessions were held simultaneously, with Prof. (Dr.) Reetu Malhotra serving as the Chairperson. Experts such as Prof. (Dr.) Anil Verma, Professor at Thapar University, Dr. G.S. Batra, Dean of Academic Affairs at Jagat Guru Nanak Dev Punjab State Open University, and Prof. (Dr.) Vipin Gupta, Professor and Co-Director of the Centre for Global Management at California State University, San Bernardino, shared their knowledge during the valedictory session. Prof. (Dr.) H.K. Sidhu presented the report of the two-day conference, which was followed by a vote of thanks from Prof. (Dr.) Rajni Saluja. The conference concluded with the national anthem
