Jammu, Mar 4: The Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) of Government SPMR College of Commerce, Jammu, organized a one-day seminar on career counselling and job opportunities, providing students with valuable insights into career planning, higher education, and competitive exams.
The seminar saw enthusiastic participation from students, faculty members, and distinguished guest speakers from diverse professional backgrounds. Prof. (Dr.) Rajinder Singh, Principal of the college, graced the occasion as the chief guest. The event featured Mr. Shoaib Farid, CEO of Wings - Ek Udaan, and Mr. Shubam (MBA), Centre Director of Sunya IAS, as resource persons.
In his inaugural address, Prof. (Dr.) Rajinder Singh underscored the importance of strategic career planning and urged students to explore evolving job market trends. He emphasized that such initiatives play a crucial role in shaping students’ professional journeys.
Mr. Shoaib Farid provided insights into emerging career opportunities, skill development, and industry demands. His interactive session allowed students to seek personalized guidance on career pathways.
Mr. Shubam focused on civil services as a career option, detailing the preparation strategies required for success in competitive exams. He encouraged students to maintain dedication and consistency in their studies, emphasizing that perseverance is key to achieving their goals.
The seminar began with a welcome address by Prof. Ashraf Nawaz, Coordinator of IQAC. The event was compered by Prof. Shaji Khan, while the vote of thanks was delivered by Dr. Deepshikha Sharma. Faculty members, including Prof. Pawan Gupta, Dr. Reena Rani, Dr. Madhu Bala, and Dr. Roomi Rani, were also present.
The seminar concluded with an engaging discussion, leaving students motivated and better equipped to make informed career choices.
