Early Times Report

Jammu, Mar 4: Students of Delhi Public School (DPS) Jammu have once again brought laurels to the school by excelling at CelesteCon’24, a prestigious national-level online astrophysics and aviation-themed fest organized by DPS RK Puram.
CelesteCon, hosted by Aeross – The Aerospace Society of DPS RK Puram, witnessed participation from over 30 leading schools across the country. The fest, held virtually from 9th to 16th November 2024, aimed to foster interest in aviation and space sciences through a series of competitions, debates, and workshops.
Five talented students from the Eureka Physics Club of DPS Jammu participated in multiple events, showcasing their scientific prowess and analytical skills:
• Manaswin Mahajan (XI-A)
• Danish Talwar (XI-A)
• Manya Targotra (XI-A)
• Rudraksh Bargotra (XI-A)
• Sanvi Kalra (IX-F)
Danish Talwar (XI-A) won the First Prize in the “Surprise Event”, a unique competition where participants faced multiple rounds without prior disclosure of the challenges. The event required them to solve a crossword puzzle, prepare a futuristic and scientifically accurate report on extraterrestrial lifeforms, and compose a poem on astronomy and the universe. The element of surprise and quick thinking made this competition thrilling and an exceptional learning experience.
Manaswin Mahajan (XI-A) secured the Third Prize in “The Pursuit of Dispute”, an event that tested participants on logical reasoning, data analysis, and argumentative research in the field of aviation and space technology. The competition had two rounds: the first focused on data analysis and report-making, while the second featured debates and deliberations on topics such as:
• For or against: The use of drones for automation in aviation
• Hydrogen-based engines vs. Electricity-based engines
Manaswin’s ability to critically analyze, research, and debate among over 40 participants from across the country earned him this prestigious position.
The winners were awarded certificates, aviation and astronomy-themed merchandise, LEGO kits, and books provided by the Aeross Society. Additionally, to encourage their scientific curiosity, they received complimentary science books from DPS RK Puram, further strengthening their passion for research and innovation.
The Management of DPS Jammu, under the visionary leadership of Hon’ble President-RCT, Sh. M.K Ajatshatru Singh Ji, Distinguished PVC, Kunwarani Ritu Singh Ji, Hon’ble Director, Sh. S.S. Sodhi Ji, along with Principal, Ms. Ruchi Chabra, and the esteemed faculty, congratulated the winners for their stellar performance. They applauded their dedication, scientific temperament, and ability to compete at a national level, reinforcing DPS Jammu’s commitment to academic excellence and innovation.
