Jammu, Apr 13- Ahead of first round of Lok Sabha polls on April 16 the security grid in and around the entire Jammu region has been strengthened with the deployment of more paramilitary troops across Jammu Poonch Lok Sabha seat.
The entry and exits points of the state border have been sealed and the security forces have been asked to remain on high alert to prevent any militant strike in the run up to the polls. Extra vigil is on along the line of control and across the International border with Pakistan to thwart any attempts aimed at disruption of poll process.
The entire lot of paramilitary troops who have arrived here in the state for discharging poll duty have been directed to take positions outside sensitive and hyper sensitive polling stations ahead of the start of polling process on April 16. The senior election commission officers are regularly monitoring the situation on the ground with the assistance of central election observers.

The local police authorities have erected special nakas across Jammu and carrying out regular drills and checking hotel/ guest rooms and lodges to keep a watch on the movement of suspected people. A senior police officer on Monday said that the security forces are all geared up to ensure event free polls.
