Rich tributes paid to Dr B.R. Ambedkar

He was the country’s first Law Minisiter and the man behind the framing of the Indian Constitution. He was also a socialist who devoted his life to give Dalits their due.
The Deputy Chief Minister Tara Chand has described Dr. Bhim Rao Ambedkar as a great social reformer and a champion of civil rights who worked throughout his life for the upliftment of downtrodden and underprivileged sections of the society.
Speaking at an impressive function organised by the All India Confederation of SC, ST & OBC to commemorate the 118th birth anniversary of Bharat Ratan Dr. B.R.Ambedkar here today, Tara Chand said that, Baba Sahib was an epitome of civilizational change who struggled tirelessly for the just cause of classless and free society. He said that it was the urge of the great luminary to free the society from the clutches of conflict and hatred which was let loose by the evil forces of varna system.
Recollecting the contributions made by the chief architect of Indian Constitution, the Deputy Chief Minister said that he played a pivotal role in drafting the most comprehensive and detailed Constitution for the country, in which emphasis has been laid on equal rights for all citizens including the weaker sections of the society.
While Minister for PHE, Irrigation and Flood Control Taj Mohi-u-din has paid glowing tributes to Dr. Bhim Rao Ambedkar on his 119th birthday.
Taj described Dr. Ambedkar as the Messiah of downtrodden who fought throughout his life for the just cause of the underprivileged community.
Terming Dr. Ambedkar as the role model for the poor classes, Taj said by following the foot prints of this great luminary a just and caste free society can be created in the country.
To pay tributes to Baba Sahib Bhim Rao Ambedkar, a function was organized in the office of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) under the leadership of H R Chargotra, convenor of the SC-OBC cell of the party.
Speaking on the occasion, speakers paid floral tributes of Baba Sahib and recalled his contribution in the development and upliftment of the weaker sections of the society.
Speakers, while highlighting teaching of Baba Sahib Ambedkar, said that need of the hour was to follow his teachings. Those present in the function took pledge to work for the upliftment of weaker sections.
Prominent among those who present in the meeting included Daman Bhasin, general secretary, Rangil Singh, former Minister, Shanti Devi, former MLA, A K Sawhney, Chaman Angral, Vir Bhushan and others.
To commemorate the 118th Birth Anniversary of Bharat Rattan, Baba Sahib, Dr. B.R. Ambedkar function was held at Sher-e-Kashmir Bhawan organized by SC, BC Cell of NC.
Ram Pal former minister and chairman SC BC presided over the function. He on the occasion extended congratulation on behalf of Dr. Farooq Abdullah, chief minister Omar Abdullah and Sheikh Nazir.
Addressing the gathering Pal said Dr. Ambedkar dream for Naya Jammu where all the people irrespective of caste and creed get equal opportunity to develop. He lambasted the political parties which divide the people on communal lines and appealed to the people to vote and support coalition candidate in Jammu province and ensure the victory of secular forces.
Prominent who spoke on the occasion include S. Gurdeep Singh Sasan, Laxmi Datta, S Peter, Kashmir Singh Jugal Mahajan, Rajinder Chandyal, Sham Mehra, Bansi Lal, Bal Krishan Dogra, Om Dhomotra, Subash Chander and others.

Rich tributes were paid to Bharat Rattan and chief architect of Indian constitution, Baba Saheb Dr. Bhim Rao Ambedkar on his 118th birth anniversary by the members of the association of urban Batwal community here today.
Speaking on the occasion R.L. Kaith said the constitution which was adopted by the National assembly on November 26, 1949 and in his concluding speech Dr. Rajendra Prasad, we find a well earned appreciation of Babasaheb. He said, “……Sitting in the chair and watching the proceeding from day to day, I have realized as nobody else could have with what zeal and devotion the members of the Drafting Committee and specially its chairman Dr. Ambedkar, inspite of his indifferent health, have worked. We could never make a decision which was or could be ever so right as we put him as chairman. He has added luster to the work which he has done”.
Others who spoke on Babasaheb included Sat Pal Lakhotra, Som Nath Targotra, Tara Chand Bassa, Mohinder Kumar Bassa, Ashok Kumar Bassa, Kewal Krishan Sandhu, Bharat Bhushan, Naresh Kumar, Girish Kumar, Vinay Kumar, Shammi Kumar and Shashi Kumar.
An impressive function in connection with birth anniversary celebration of Ambedkar was held here by Dr. Babasaheb B.R. Ambedkar Young Blood Welfare Society Ranjit Pura, in which students of different classes read out papers on different aspects of life of the great son of the soil.
The speakers were of the opinion that the integrity and unity of the country can only be strengthened by destroying the caste discriminations and untouchability as was prescribed as was prescribed by the Chief Architect of Constitution of India. In the end after pay8ing floral tributes, the community lunch was served, sweets and fruits were also distributed among the audience.
Akhil Bharat Rachnatmak Samaj Celebrated Ambedkar Jayanti one eve of 115th brith anniversary of Dr. B.R. Ambedkar at Ashok Hall of Luthra Academy-Jammu.
R.L. Bharti IFS, Hon’ble member of J&K Public service commission was the chief who inaugurated the function by enlightening the lamp accompanied by State chief of ABRS S.P Varma, eminent advocate of supreme court S.S Lehar, Regional Chief of ABRS Mr. Shakuntla Joshi founder president Sahyog India-Dr Ashvini Jojra, K.K. Gandotra, state convenor, DD Khajuria Advisor.
While paying obeisance to Dr. Ambedkar, Bharti said that Dr. Ambedkar was no only a constitutionalist or a parliamentarian but also well known as a scholar and active selfless reformer all over the county, as a champion of the down trodden he waged relentless struggle, throughout his life, he strove for establishment of a new social order based on the principles of liberty, equality and universal brotherhood. The Indian society owes a tremendous debt to his radical and humanitarian approach for solution of the problem of depressed classes.
While paying tributes to Dr. Ambedkar , guest of honour supreme court advocate S.S Lehar, said that the people of India will remain grateful to “Bharat Rattan” Dr. Ambedkar for devoting his whole life, time and talent in framing worthy constitution through which he proved his wisdom that great people like him can born in any community. He was not only and eminent constitution expert he had also mastery over the Hindu philosophy and social laws, India can never forget such a great son of the soil.
State Chief ABRS S.P. Varma, in his presidential address, termed Dr. B.R. Ambedkar a great ray of hope for entire society in general but for youth in particular to choose the path towards the development and prosperity through hard struggle as Dr. Ambedkar overcome all the hurdles in this way being in poverty and penury with zero facility and achieved the rarified heights. The thoughts and ideology of him is more relevant in present then his own times and it is high time to put his words in practice to have a society of new social order propelled with harmony and equality.
Regional Chief ABRS Shakuntla Joshi also addressed and urged the society to follow Dr. B.R. Ambedkar honestly to have beautiful society of his dream.
In this welcome address President Sahyog India, Dr. Ashwani Jojra expressed his views that these celebrations should not be of one day but these celebration must be of every day to turn Baba Sahib’s dreams into reality by implementing his deeds and philosophy in real day to day life, which is true respect to that great should by obeying his words in real sense.
Dogra Law College celebrated Dr. B.R. Ambedkar’s 118 birthday. On the occasion, Prof. B. P. Sega, Dean academic affairs, university of Jammu was the chief guest where as Prof. V.P. Agora, HOD and Dean, Dept. of Law, University of Jammu was the guest of honor, various students spoke on the occasion among whom Allays Kawaka (Student of 2nd semester 5 year Integrated Law Course) threw light on the early life and education of Ambedkar. Dr. Ambedkar was born in a poor untouchable family on April 14, 1891 in a nation that was struggling for liberation. Benish Kazmi (student of 6th semester 3yr Law Course) called him an Indian Nationalist, Jurist, Dalit political leader and a Buddhist revivalist. Anil Kumar Sharma (Student of 2nd semester 3yr Law Course) said that overcoming numerous social and financial obstacles, Baba Saheb become one of the first “Untouchable” to obtain college education in India. Earning Law Degress and multiple doctorates for his study and research in Law, Economics and Political Science from Colombia University and London School of Economics, Ambedkar returned home as a famous scholar and practiced law for a few years before publishing journals advocating political rights and social freedom for India’s untouchable. Samreen Nabi Monga (student of 6th semester 5 year Integrated Law Course) highlighted the contribution of Baba Saheb in the framing of Indian constitution. Upon India’s Independence, the new Congress led govt invited Ambedkar to serve as the nation’s first Law Minister.
Surekha Bhat (student of 8th semester 5 year Integrated Law Course) emphasized that it was due to Dr. Ambedkar that people of India are enjoying constitutional guarantees and protections including freedom of religion and abolition of untouchability.
Prof Kapoor thanked galore on behalf of the fraternity of Dogra Law College and Trust to the distinguished guests and also to student participants.
118th birthday of Bharat Rattan Baba Saheb Bhim Rao Ambedkar was celebrated by Shri Guru Ravi Dass Sabha Bahu fort, Jammu under the chairmanship of Mulkh Raj, president of Shri Guru Ravi Dass Sabha Bahu Fort, Jammu. The programme was held in collaboration of Shri Guru Ravi Dass Sabha Chhani Rama Jammu. In the connection a grand Shobha Yatra was organized by the Sabha, the people especially the students of Shri Sai Public School Bahu Fort were shouting the slogans like “Jab Tak Suraj Chand Rahega Baba Tera Naam Rahega” “Baba Saheb Bhim Rao Ambedkar Amar Rahe”. The students of Sri Sai Public School Bahu Fort, Jammu threw light on the life and mission of Baba Saheb Bhim Rao Ambedkar. Thousands of Devotees including religious, political, social leaders paid rich tributes to Baba Saheb.
