Jammu, Mar 7: The Government College of Education, Jammu, successfully concluded its five-day Civil Defence Training Program with a valedictory function, marking the culmination of an intensive training session on disaster preparedness and emergency response. The program, which began on October 3, 2025, aimed to equip students with essential life-saving skills, including first aid, fire safety, disaster management, and emergency evacuation procedures. Over 100 students actively participated, demonstrating enthusiasm for acquiring practical survival techniques. The valedictory ceremony was graced by Chief Warden Paramjeet Kumar, Deputy Chief Warden R. Vijay Magotra, Training Incharge SI Ram Dayal Saini, and Training Instructors Rajinder Kumar and Sujeet Singh, whose expertise greatly enriched the learning experience of the participants. The event was meticulously coordinated under the leadership of NSS Programme Officer Prof. Sarita Dogra and Women Development Cell Convenor Dr. Shubhra Jamwal. The presence of Principal Dr. (Prof.) Jyoti Parihar, along with faculty members Dr. Rajinder Kour, Prof. Deepali, Roopa Kumari, Prof. Satish Sharma, and Dr. Sonam Gandotra, added significance to the occasion. They encouraged students to apply their newly acquired knowledge in real-life situations. In her address, Principal Dr. Jyoti Parihar commended the Civil Defence team for their dedication and expressed gratitude to the trainers for imparting valuable skills. She emphasized the importance of such training in preparing resilient youth capable of handling emergencies effectively. The valedictory function concluded with a vote of thanks, acknowledging the collective efforts of organizers, trainers, and participants in making the event a success. The initiative not only enriched students with practical knowledge but also instilled a strong sense of community service and responsibility.
