Early Times Report UDHAMPUR, Mar 7: In a major success against drug trafficking, Udhampur Police have arrested three drug peddlers in separate operations and established a backward link to a supplier in an ongoing NDPS case. Case 1: Drug Peddler Arrested by Rehambal Police A team from Police Station Rehambal, during a naka (checkpoint) operation at Phlata, intercepted a suspicious individual. The suspect, identified as Rahul Sharma, son of Parmanand Sharma, resident of Sambal, Udhampur, was frisked, leading to the recovery of 5.2 grams of heroin-like contraband along with a polypouch. He was arrested on the spot. In this regard, a case FIR No. 35/2025 registered at Police Station Rehambal under sections 8/21/22 of the NDPS Act. Case 2: Drug Peddler Arrested by Udhampur Police A police team from Police Station Udhampur, while patrolling Circular Road, Udhampur, noticed a suspicious individual attempting to hide. The police swiftly intercepted and frisked the suspect, identified as Pritam Kumar, son of Chuni Ram, resident of Omara Morh, Udhampur. A transparent plastic polypack containing a heroin-like substance was recovered from his possession. He was arrested immediately. In this regard, a case FIR No. 69/2025 registered at Police Station Udhampur under sections 8/21/22 of the NDPS Act. Case 3: Backward Link Established in NDPS Case by Majalta Police Continuing its efforts to dismantle drug networks, Police Station Majalta has successfully established a backward link in FIR No. 118/2024 under sections 8/21/22/29 of the NDPS Act.
