MCM celebrates Women's Day with Medical Camp

CHANDIGARH, Mar 8: As part of International Women's Day celebration, the Health Committee of Mehr Chand Mahajan DAV College for Women, Chandigarh, in collaboration with Fortis Hospital, Mohali, organised a free Medical Camp for staff and students. The medical team of Fortis Hospital comprised of panel of doctors including Dr. Prabha Bansal, Dermatology, Dr. Arsh Kaur, Gynaecology, Dr. Shikha Gupta, General Medicine, Dr. Ritesh Khokhar, Orthopedics, Dt. Lavisha, paramedical staff Muskaan, Anshika (Nursing) and Priya Sharma, and lab technician. Various screening tests including blood glucose, blood pressure, ECG, Bone Mineral density, etc. were conducted during the camp. More than 300 individuals including teaching, non-teaching staff members and students benefitted from the camp.
Officiating Principal Ms. Suman Mahajan said that going by the dictum 'Health is Wealth', the Medical Camp sought to raise awareness among various stakeholders about the importance of health. She added that considering that women specifically put their healthcare on the back-burner, this Women's Day was an apt opportunity to bring different specialists together to facilitate women get answers to their health issues under one roof.
