Early Times Report
JAMMU, Mar 8: In a bid to maintain public order and safety, the Jammu Police Zone North has launched a drive against public drinking, apprehending 14 individuals in the past 24 hours. The police have reminded the public that consuming alcohol in public areas is prohibited under local laws and will attract legal action, including fines and potential arrest.
The drive, which is part of the police's efforts to ensure a safe and secure environment, has seen maximum apprehensions made by police stations Bakshi Nagar and Janipur. The police have been actively monitoring public drinking hotspots, including parks, roadsides, fast food trucks, and market areas.
In addition to the drive against public drinking, the Jammu Police Zone North has also initiated an outreach program for senior citizens. As part of this initiative, police personnel visited the homes of 12 senior citizens, including retired police officials, to inquire about their well-being and health.
This outreach program is part of the police's efforts to build trust and foster a sense of community. The program is also aimed at ensuring the safety and security of senior citizens, who are often vulnerable to crime and exploitation.
