GLDM GDC HIRANAGAR celebrated International Women's Day-2025

JAMMU, Mar 8: Govt. GLDM Degree College Hiranagar under the aegis of IQAC Celebrated the International Women's Day-2025 in the College campus on 08-03-2025. The Programme started with lighting of the traditional lamp followed by Saraswati Vandana.
In her inaugural address, Principal of the College Dr. Pragya Khanna welcomed the invited Resource persons and highlighted the International Women's Day-2025 theme "Accelerate Action" and the meticulous implementation of Govt. schemes and Programs. She emphasized that when we respect Women we respect our Nation and by 2047 we can envision an India where gender equality is not justice policy goal, but an ingrained cultural value.
In her invited lecture, the Resource person of the programme Dr. Vandana Sharma, Assistant Professor, Department of Hindi, Central University of Jammu gave a detailed note on the challenges faced by the Women in the society and how to convert those challenges into opportunities.
Neetu Bali, Advocate and Entrepreneur was another resource person for the event. She spoke about women empowerment and how women can support each other. She also threw light on different schemes initiated by Govt. of India for empowerment of Women.
In her deliberation Ms. Akshita Sharma, (JKAS) emphasised on self belief, worth and confidence that can be instrumental for empowering women.
A fruitful Panel discussion among the female faculty members and female students of the college also held during the Programme.
Female students of various semesters also expressed their views during the programme. The Proceeding of the Prrogramme were conducted by Prof. Rajni Bala H.O.D. Sociology. The faculty members of various departments were also present on the occasion.
Certificates were also given to the female students who expressed their valuable views and shared their experiences while participating actively in the programme. Finally, Prof. Shivani Slathia (H.O.D. Education) presented vote of thanks.
