Early Times Report
JAMMU, Mar 8: The Women Empowerment/Development Cell of Government Gandhi Memorial (GGM) Science College inaugurated the International Women's Day (IWD) 2025 celebrations with an engaging online quiz on Women Achievers of India. Organized under the patronage of Principal Prof. (Dr.) Romesh Kumar Gupta and the guidance of Convener Prof. Yasmeen Mughal, the initiative aimed to recognize the exceptional contributions of Indian women across various fields, promote gender equality, and inspire students and faculty alike.
The quiz marked the commencement of a series of events leading up to the grand culmination on March 11, 2025. Upcoming activities include a poster-making and slogan-writing competition, an art exhibition, and a symposium on this year's global theme, "Accelerate Action."
With an overwhelming response, the online format ensured widespread participation and inclusivity among students and faculty. E-certificates were awarded to all participants in appreciation of their enthusiasm and engagement.
Later in the day, a team led by Prof. Yasmeen Mughal attended the Mission Shakti Women's Day celebrations at Convention Hall, organized by the Social Welfare Department. The event was graced by Ms. Sakina Masood (Itoo), Hon'ble Minister, as the Chief Guest, adding to the significance of the occasion.
