SSP Udhampur Chairs ‘Thana Diwas’ at PS Chenani, Udhampur

Udhampur, Mar 8: As part of the community policing initiative, ‘Thana Diwas’ was organized at Police Station Chenani under the chairmanship of Sh. Amod Ashok Nagpure, IPS, SSP Udhampur. He was accompanied by SDPO Chenani and SHO PS Chenani. The event saw active participation from residents of various villages under the jurisdiction of PS Chenani, including ex-police personnel, chowkidars, ex-panches, ex-sarpanches, and local youth.
The primary objective of Thana Diwas was to directly interact with the public, understand their grievances, and find effective solutions. Special emphasis was laid on raising awareness about modern crimes, preventive measures, and addressing the growing issue of drug abuse among the youth. Additionally, participants were briefed on recent developments in criminal laws to enhance their legal awareness.
During the session, SSP Udhampur attentively listened to the concerns and grievances of the attendees and assured them of appropriate action on the issues raised. He also emphasized the importance of public cooperation in eradicating social evils and maintaining law and order in the region. The locals appreciated the police department’s efforts in fostering community engagement and assured their full support in strengthening law enforcement initiatives. Thana Diwas concluded with a collective commitment to working together for a safer and crime-free society.
