JAMMU, Mar 8: The Management Committee of Rehan Basera Shelter Home for Urban Homeless celebrated International Women's Day with great enthusiasm. Madam Mitali Gupta was the chief guest on the occasion. Addressing the gathering, she emphasized that women should support and uplift each other rather than being adversaries.
Several distinguished guests, including Dr. Neelam Sharma, Principal Sunita Bangotra, Parmila Gupta, Mamta Malhotra, and representatives from NGOs, were honored for their contributions to society. Sham Lal Basson, former Corporator and committee member, highlighted the historical significance of Women's Day and acknowledged the contributions of great women leaders like Savitribai Phule, Malala Yousafzai, and Rosa Parks.
Speakers raised concerns over increasing crimes against women, including rising cases of rape and domestic violence.
