Bajwa seeks votes on PDP’s performance

Samba, Apr 14- Former Rajya Sabha member and PDP candidate for Jammu-Poonch Lok Sabha seat Trilok Singh Bajwa has asked the electorate to elect those representatives who would fulfill wishes and aspirations of the people of Jammu and Kashmir.
Addressing series of public meetings on the last day of campaigning in different areas of Samba and Vijaypur, Bajwa said that only PDP can protect interests of all regions and sub-regions of the State. He said that PDP has carved out a path of development and peace in Jammu and Kashmir. He highlighted achievements of Mufti Mohammad Sayeed led regime and it was during that regime discrimination with Jammu was removed. He mentioned that developmental activities were accelerated during the regime of Mufti Mohammad Sayeed.
He said that for years together NC and Congress leaders have befooled the masses by making false promises and it was high time to teach a lesson to these party for betraying the masses for the lust of power.
He reminded the people about mis-rule of National Conference and recalled during the regime of Dr Farooq Abdullah corruption and nepotism was legalized and Ministers were indulging in corrupt practices. He specially mentioned that government jobs were auctioned in open market and kith and kin of ministers and influential persons were appointed through backdoor.
Bajwa said that being a farmer himself, he was aware of the problems being faced by the residents of rural areas. He assured the people that, if elected, he would effectively highlight their problems in the Lok Sabha.
Meanwhile in a meeting held at Patta Bohri, PDP general secretary Daman Bhasin cautioned the people against malicious campaign launched by the National Conference. He said that this party was responsible for the miseries of the common masses.
He asked the people to compare three year regime of Mufti Mohammad Sayed with decades’ long mis-rule of National Conference before casting their votes. He said that it was only during the regime of PDP government that discrimination with Jammu was removed. He pointed out that many developmental projects were launched in the remotest and far-flung areas of Jammu region during the regime of Mufti Mohammad Sayed.
