Jammu police foils agitating PHE daily wagers march to Civil Secretariat
3/10/2025 9:06:16 PM

Early Times Report
JAMMU, Mar 10: Jammu Police on Monday foiled a march of protesting PHE daily wagers heading towards the Civil Secretariat. The daily wagers were protesting over no mention of them and considering their demands in the recent Jammu and Kashmir government budget presented by Chief Minister Omar Abdullah in the Legislative Assembly.
The protesting daily wagers have threatened a three-day strike and stopped water supply in the entire region from March 20 stating that the government will be responsible for it.
Shouting slogans, "stop exploitation", hundreds of PHE daily wagers this afternoon took out a march under the banner of PHE Employees Union towards the Civil Secretariat.
Heavy deployment of Police prevented them from moving towards the administrative complex and stopped them at K C Chowk.
Police used barricades and concertina wires to prevent their movement following which the daily wagers staged sit-in.
