| NC mother of all problems: Bhasin | | | Early Times Report Jammu, Apr 14- Ridiculing National Conference (NC) for celebrating 100 days of coalition regime, general secretary of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Daman Bhasin today predicted that National Conference led alliance would be proved disastrous for the state of Jammu and Kashmir. In a statement issued here Bhasin said that National Conference leadership was notorious for looting the State and sacrificing interest of the people of Jammu and Kashmir for the lust of power. He recalled that National Conference government from 1996 to 2002 was proved worst ever corrupt regime in the State. Countering allegation of the provincial president of National Conference Rattan Lal, Bhasin said that during Farooq Abdullah regime corruption was legitimized and family members of the Ministers were appointed on gazetted posts through backdoors. He said that it was a historical fact that government led by Farooq Abdullah from 1996 to 2002 had increased alienation of the masses through its misdeeds. Lambasting NC for befooling the people on emotive issues, he said that except compounding miseries of the masses, successive National Conference regimes have done nothing for the common people.. Bhasin further reminded the NC leaders that it was again NC led regime that had brazenly rigged assembly elections in 1987 and subverted the democracy in the State. “For the lust of power NC leaders can go to any extent”, he opined and reminded that it was only during the regime of Mufti Mohammad Sayeed various steps were taken to eradicate corruption.
