Govt College for Women, Bhagwati Nagar hosts online debate

JAMMU, Mar 12: As part of International Women's Day celebrations, Govt. College for Women, Bhagwati Nagar organized an online debate competition under the theme "Accelerating Actions." The event, conducted by the Department of Commerce under the patronage of Principal Dr. Meeru Abrol, saw enthusiastic participation from B.Com Semester IV students.
The debate featured engaging discussions on gender equality, women's rights, contributions across sectors, and empowerment. A total of 11 students showcased their analytical and debating skills, addressing critical issues related to women's progress in society.
Speaking on the occasion, Dr. Meeru Abrol praised the participants for their efforts and emphasized the importance of such discussions in promoting gender inclusivity and societal change. She encouraged students to use their voices to advocate for equality and empowerment.
After a series of insightful debates, the winners were announced:
Priya Charak - First Place
Diksha Tiwari - Second Place
Anjani Motton - Third Place
The event was moderated by Prof. Gagan Jyoti and Prof. Rasmeet Kour, while Prof. Nisha Bhagat delivered the concluding note of appreciation, reinforcing the college's commitment to fostering awareness and action for women's empowerment.
