Early Times Report JAMMU, Mar 12: DIG JKS Range, Shiv Kumar (IPS), conducted a comprehensive border visit to Samba and Kathua districts, reviewing security measures and engaging with local stakeholders. During the visit, he held meetings with BSF officials, residents of border villages, Village Defence Guards (VDGs), and retired police and army personnel. SSP Samba, DySP Headquarters Sumit Kumar, SHO, and In-Charge PP Rajpura accompanied the DIG during his tour. Security arrangements at key border police posts, including Mukandpur, Kore Punnu, Nagri, and Bambyal, were thoroughly reviewed to strengthen border vigilance. In a separate development, following the viral news on the rising drug menace in Bari Brahmana, SSP Samba, along with SDPO Bari Brahmana and SHO Bari Brahmana, launched a crackdown on drug peddlers. Over 20 offenders have been arrested and put behind bars. Special teams have been constituted to conduct searches, raids, and arrests in hotspot areas across Jammu, Samba, and Kathua, ensuring strict action against drug trafficking. Authorities have assured that such anti-drug drives will continue to curb the menace and maintain law and order in the region. |
