Dr Darakhshan holds Public Darbar in Udhampur, reviews Eid preparations

UDHAMPUR, Mar 12: Dr. Syed Darakhshan Andrabi, Chairperson of the J&K Waqf Board, held a Public Darbar at Eidgah, Udhampur, where she interacted with prominent social representatives and the general public. Attendees shared their concerns, opinions, and suggestions with her. Accompanying her were Waqf Board CEO Zahir Kaifi and Administrator Jammu Abid Hussain.
Speaking at the event, Dr. Andrabi highlighted the transparency and transformation in Waqf Board management over the past three years. She emphasized the upgradation of Waqf assets across the UT, reaffirming the Board's commitment to strengthening Sufi centers throughout J&K. "Public endorsement of our initiatives is our guiding force," she said.
Dr. Andrabi also announced the construction of a shopping complex on Waqf land in Udhampur, which will create job opportunities for local youth and generate revenue for further infrastructure development. She thanked Sheikh Tanveer for organizing the interactive session.
Later, Dr. Andrabi chaired a meeting on Eid preparedness, attended by government and Waqf Board officials, including ADC Udhampur Prem Singh, CEO Udhampur Municipality Ranjinder Dhinga, Exen JKPDCL Mohammed Sareer, Naib Tehsildar Anayat Ali, and AIO Jewan Singh. She urged coordinated efforts to ensure smooth arrangements for Ramzan and Eid celebrations.
